Week 28 – Trimming Time!
Week 28 was a VERY busy week! The trim out started in earnest with interior doors getting installed, along with the window sills, interior stops, and bathroom tile. The T&G install continued as well.
Should probably do a poll online. Do you like the antique white stained trim? Or….
Do you like the “Utterly Beige” painted trim?
Most switches and plugs got installed this week. Doing the plain, white basic stuff starting out. Replacing with smart plugs and switches later…
Interior stops for the north high window at “grand hallway”
Interior stops and window detail at north “Wall o’ Glass”. Had to stuff trim in at beams because post was thicker

Seems a little too early to attempt to fix walls. One trade comes in and does some beautiful work. The next trade comes in and WRECKS IT!
View from south entry. Door header got reduced and interior stops installed. The big piece of wood is for the trim guys to set their scaffolding. They still need to install the trim at the ridge
Guest bedroom “wall o’ glass”. Whomever stays in this room better be a “morning person”
Another view of south facing guest bedroom windows. Actually, a fairly private view…

Can’t seem to make a dent in the rest of this T&G. May have to install some downstairs! 🙂
Laundry room window gets casing. I really LOVE the casing we picked out. It was actually some of the cheaper stuff at Home Depot!
Detail of laundry room casing
Still need to install the rest of the T&G and interior stops in the garage. I think they were hoping some of the other trades would finish some of their stuff and get it out of the garage!
What a fricking mess…
Spackle art
Liam’s bedroom receives casing on the windows and some drywall touch-up. It also serves as tile storage….
Lots of tile work this week. The dark brown stuff is the 12″x24″ waiting to go in at the bathroom walls
Liam LOVES playing with the new sliders. Oh dear….
Master suite door gets casing
Master bedroom “Wall o’ glass” interior stops and sills installed
One of the pocket doors gets the birch slab installed. Heavy, amazing doors! Every time I open it I feel like I’m opening the room to King Tut’s treasure chamber…
Hallway bath tile job is a big one! We created two 5’x11″ shelves. There are LED lights under the tops of both. Should be wicked cool. Can’t wait to test it out!
It’s hard to appreciate how modern this is going to look with the dirty salvage yard 3″x3″ “3rds” but once they are cleaned up I think it will be beautiful
Can you tell Liam likes turquoise? 😉
Another view of hallway bath. 3×3 tile will extend all the way to the ceiling on this wall only
One of three cool “media boxes”. The whole house will be GigE internet ready. This circuit will power Liam’s playroom “smart tv”
Up next:

– Siding install starts
– Cork Flooring starts at end of week
– Door and casing install continues
– Exterior sliders get stained (maybe by US???)
– Posts and interior stops get stained/painted
