James Fitzgibbon designed and built the Robert Daniel House in 1950. It was constructed from recycled Quonset hut structural supports and built into a hillside. Many of the interior walls and outdoor retaining walls are made of stacked Tennessee marble. A technique that would be prohibitively expensive, if not impossible, in this decade. The home has recently undergone an extensive renovation by the current owners. All of these photographs were taken by Justin Fee for a feature in Knoxville Magazine.
